Theory of Drum Coal Mill
The motor drives the drum coal mill by means of driving the barrel of the mill through bar-pin coupling, cylindrical gear reducer and open girth-pinion reducing.
The grinding medium (steel balls) is filled in the mill shell. When the barrel is rotating, the steel balls are raised up to definite altitude by centrifugal and friction force, then fall down by their own gravity. The coal in the shell is ground into powder by the impacting and grinding of the falling balls. The ground coal powder is sent by the pneumatic equipment in the milling system to the boiler for burning or to the coal powder storehouse.
